Document Freedom Day

Document Freedom Day (DFD) is a day designed to "raise awareness about document freedom"[1] "on the last Wednesday of March"[2]. Document Freedom Day was first celebrated on March 26, 2008.

According to Ars Technica, more than "200 groups in 60 countries" are actively involved in DFD[3].

DFD's main goals are:

  • promotion and adoption of free document formats
  • forming a global network
  • coordination of activities that happen on last Wednesday of March, Document Freedom Day[4]
  • In 2009 the Document Freedom Day was on March 25[5] .

In 2010 it will be held on Wednesday 31st.
